✊🏽 Juneteenth: Freedom, Progress, and the Power of Community
At Skunked Dispensary, we believe cannabis culture is rooted in connection, healing, and community—which is why we’re proud to recognize and celebrate Juneteenth.
What is Juneteenth?
Juneteenth, celebrated every June 19th, marks the day in 1865 when enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. It’s a day of celebration, reflection, and recognition of Black resilience, joy, and liberation.

Why It Matters to Us
As a dispensary, we stand on the frontlines of an industry that has long been shaped by systemic injustice—especially toward Black communities. While cannabis is now a thriving legal business, we never forget that countless lives were impacted by the criminalization of cannabis, disproportionately affecting people of color.
At Skunked, we don’t just serve our community—we’re part of it. That means standing up for equity, celebrating culture, and pushing for progress.
How We’re Honoring Juneteenth at Skunked
💚 Community First: We’re using this time to uplift and support local Black-owned cannabis brands, artists, and creators.
💼 Vendor Spotlight: Throughout June, we’ll highlight and promote vendors making real change in the industry.
🎁 Giveaways with Purpose: Our Lit & Legit VIP bags will include items from Black-owned brands as a way of honoring the legacy of Juneteenth through support and visibility.
🎶 Culture & Celebration: Music, art, and vibes—our appreciation party and daily atmosphere pay tribute to the powerful creativity that flows from Black culture and shapes cannabis history.
Moving Forward Together
Juneteenth isn’t just a moment—it’s a movement. At Skunked, we are committed to growing with purpose: embracing equity, amplifying underrepresented voices, and building a dispensary that reflects the diversity of the cannabis community.
Come through, show love, and let’s keep it Lit & Legit—together.
